Just by looking at some internet stats, you can see how popular these sites have become. Yesterday alone, 26% of all internet users visited Facebook.com, this makes it the second most visited site behind Google. Youtube is comes in behind Facebook with 23% of the global internet users. Although Twitter isn’t as successful with a mere 4%, that has risen dramatically over the past 3 months and it looks to become one of the biggest sites in the future.

This need that’s built up over the years to be constantly connected to the world has led to the creation of many social networking gadgets. These range of gadgets allow us to satisfy out need to connect to the internet everywhere we go. One gadget that is always being improved is the ’smart phone’ which is being lead by the iPhone. Some of the other devices that are becoming more popular are netbooks which are smaller laptops that are built for internet anywhere.

So this need to be connected to the world 24/7 simply supports the argument that we are really addicted to gadgets. Even if you don’t think you’re addicted to gadgets, I don’t think you’ll have to look very far to find one that you don’t leave the house without. Whether it’s an MP3 player, such as an iPod, or just a mobile phone, these are the main gadgets that we can’t live without.
